ALUMNA NAMED EDITOR
Brooke Edwards, a CBU graduate, recently became city editor of the “Daily Press,” a Victorville, Calif. newspaper. She served on staff as an investigative reporter since 2008.

After receiving her B.A. in English, teaching credential and M.S. in education, Edwards taught for four years at a Riverside high school. A few years later, she acquired her M.A. in journalism from   New York University.

DECEMBER COMMENCEMENT
Fall commencement is scheduled to take place on Dec. 16 at Harvest Christian Fellowship.

The 10 a.m. ceremony is for candidates in the following schools: the Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business, the Shelby and Ferne Collinsworth School of Music, the Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education and the School of Nursing. The ceremony for all other schools is at 2 p.m.

Candidates must complete the exit process by Dec. 6.

SPEECH AND DEBATE
The speech and debate team won first place at their most recent competition. The competition, called the Ray Dahlin Invitational, took place at Grossmont College in El Cajon, Calif.

Student participants acquired six individual trophies. Winners include: David Tibbitts, Alex Lamascus, Richard Wickham, Faris Sweiss and Danika Wignall.

The speech and debate fall championships will take place Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, at Cerritos College. Visitors are welcome to attend.
