FedEx Express donated a Boeing 727-200F aircraft Jan. 10 to California Baptist University’s Department of Aviation Science.
The plane made its final landing at Riverside Municipal Airport before taxiing through an arch of water, a symbolic gesture to mark the plane’s 33 years of successful flights.
After three decades spent in the air, the aircraft will now serve as a working laboratory for CBU’s aviation students to gain hands-on training.
The plane originally flew with AirCanada before carrying cargo across the United States with FedEx for 20 years. It marks FedEx’s 60th donation of a Boeing 727 plane for educational means.
