Kelli and her husband Keith, daughter Katie and her mother Joy embark on their weekly family outing with a walk up Mt. Rubidoux. Every weekend the family trys to go on family outings such as shopping in the downtown farmers market or larger adventures including paddle boarding.
Kelli and Keith are regular attendees of Saturday services at Sandals Church and are also involved with male small groups and female small groups. They attend Saturday because those services are geared more toward children and family.
Half way up Mt. Rubidoux, the Welzel family take a break to check out an old castle ruin that still stands. Egged on by Kelli, 4-month-old Kinsley gives a smile and laughs with enjoyment while Keith holds her.
Kelli meets with FOCUS interns in preparation for an upcoming meeting to equip FOCUS leaders to teach their classes. They open with devotions led by Shelby Moore (left), senior behavioral science, Kendall Barkley, senior liberal studies, Estrella Cruz, grad assistant for the Office of Leadership and Transitions, and Christian Hassler, senior christian studies major. Hot topics are discussed such as how to start small groups and encourage spiritual growth within FOCUS.
