The Day N Night music festival was held at Angel Stadium Sept. 8-10 with performances from artists including Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, SZA, Post Malone, Metro Boomin, Khalid and more.
This was the first year Day N Night was held at Angels Stadium. There were different opinions on the venue, but Tiara Cobbins, junior kinesiology major, said she liked the venue because attendees did not have to hike from stage to stage.
Cobbins also explained how this festival was different from others she has previously attended.
“It was all hip-hop and R&B. Other festivals contain those two genres in addition to other ones like EDM or indie music,” Cobbins said. “I’d recommend (the festival) to just about anyone who has a love for music.”
Abby Bulanadi, junior public health major, said she enjoyed the event as well.
“My favorite performers had to have been Chance the Rapper or SZA. Chance is someone everyone should see at least once,” Bulanadi said. “Chance is my favorite artist because he isn’t afraid to talk about God and how God has blessed him. He’s down to earth and makes it a priority to give back to his community.”
Miguel Diaz, junior communication disorders major, attended the Day N Night music festival for the first time.
“My experience at Day N Night was incredible. It was the first music festival I’ve been to. Seeing so many artists in three days made for a jam-packed weekend. Plus they were all artists that I listen to. It was an unforgettable experience,” Diaz said.
The lineup for Day N Night 2018 has not yet been announced but those who attended this year are already anticipating attending the festival again.
“I would definitely go back again. It’s just a great overall environment,” Bulandi said.
