Marc E. Bassy released his debut album “Gossip Column” Oct. 13 with Republic Records. The sound throughout the album resembles a young Justin Timberlake.
Before writing his own music, the San Fransisco native was a songwriter for artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, CeeLo Green, Wiz Khalifa and Sean Kingston.
In an interview with iHeartRadio, Bassy said he was excited to release his long-awaited, debut studio album.
“This is the first time it’s really on me, so it’s an exciting feeling. I’ve been working on this music for so long. They say it takes your whole life to make your first album, so I feel like that to a certain degree,” Bassy said.
Though “Gossip Column” is Bassy’s first album, it does not show. With incredible beats and an urban-pop, eclectic sound, Bassy sets his own tone and style.
The 16-track project features artists G-Eazy, YG, Kehlani, Kyle, Hailee Steinfeld and Bobby Brackins.
Each song on the album exudes good vibes while Bassy mainly sings in falsetto. Some of the top songs on “Gossip Column” include “Plot Twist,” “You & Me” and “Till I Get Found.”
The multi-talented artist will be going on his first headline tour with Bebe Rexha starting this month. The “Bebe & Bassy Tour” will have 23 shows across the United States that debut his eclectic sound.
Bassy created a feel-good album with “Gossip Column.” The project is currently available on all streaming sites.
