CAF AND BRISCO’S CLOSED FOR
THANKSGIVING
The Alumni Dining Common will close for Thanksgiving holiday on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. and will open again Mon., Nov. 28 at 7 a.m.

Brisco’s will also be closed for the same periods, but it will open at its normal time of 10:30 a.m. on  Mon., Nov. 28.

GENERAL ELECTION OUTCOMES
The Riverside County General Consolidated Election, held Nov. 8, 2011, had the following outcomes:

A new Ward Seven councilman was elected. Steve Adams accumulated 1,283 votes, gaining a 55.30 percent win.

Riverside Unified School District filled three openings.Those elected are, Gayle Cloud, Tom Hunt and Patricia Lock Dawson.

Measure I, which opted to continue library services after Measure C terms expires in June 2012, passed at 85.24 percent. Measure I passing  means more funds, computers and programs with no tax increase for Riverside residents.

CROSSROADS TREE LIGHTING
Crossroads Christian Church in Corona will be lighting up their Christmas tree on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. The festivities will include singing carols, hot chocolate, a petting zoo and hay rides.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS RIVERSIDE
The Mission Inn hotel in Downtown Riverside will be having their 19th annual Festival of Lights Celebration on Nov. 25. The lighting will include fireworks, live entertainment, carriage rides, snow, and an appearance will be made by Santa Claus and his reindeer. The lights will be on tell Jan 8.

SCHOOL OF MUSIC CONCERTS
Choral Union will perform the Messiah by George Frederic Handel on Dec. 11 at Crosspoint Church in Chino at 6 p.m., it is free concert.

California Baptist University’s Choir and Orchestra will be performing their first Christmas concert this season at Harvest Church in Riverside on Dec. 10; this concert is a ticketed event. The tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the School of Music main office.
