With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the Associated Students of California Baptist University’s Commuter Club is hosting a special commuter event for the occasion.

The Commuter Love event for all CBU commuter students taking place Feb. 12 from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m., will be hosted by ASCBU’s commuter representatives.

Anna Crosby, junior applied statistical analysis major, explained the event.

“We will have a photo booth, Valentine’s card station and Valentine-themed desserts; and there’s prizes,” Crosby said.

The event is specifically catered for commuter students only.

“It is an event where our commuters can drop by for a relaxing break and some Valentine-themed festivities,” Crosby said.

Saramonet Stowe, junior psychology major,  is planning to attend the event.

“It seems like a fun event for the occasion and it’s nice to connect to other commuters,” Stowe said.

Besides the “commuters only” rule, there are no requirements, such as bringing a date.

“Our goal is to create an event in which commuters can drop by for a few minutes during their busy day to enjoy some Valentine festivities in whatever capacity they wish,” Crosby said.

There are also some opportunities to win prizes for students who attend. By filling out a survey regarding their experience as commuters at CBU, students will be entered to win an “awesome commuter prize package filled with special commuter-branded goodies” as Crosby put it.

This event is a way to interact with the four representatives, as they said they are open to discussing suggestions for other commuter events in the near future, in hopes to make commuter life at CBU fun-filled and impactful.
