Patrick Caro, 23-year-old senior biology major at California Baptist University, died Dec. 8 from a motorcycle accident at 11 p.m. while traveling eastbound on Highway 91.
A memorial service was held at noon on Dec. 22 at Redlands Church of Christ to honor and celebrate Caro’s life.
The family asked that all attendees of the memorial service keep their the
flowers within the colors of red, white and blue to remember Caro’s patriotic birthday, July 4, 1993.
Caro was enrolled in
CBU’s pre-medical program where he met his closest friends such as Karina Elias, senior biology major.
“Patrick was one of the best people you could have met,” Elias said. “He had the best personality and vibes anyone can have; you would just get happy by being around him. There wouldn’t be a day where Patrick wouldn’t crack a joke and do even the impossible to make his friends smile. God made him an amazing friend. He will forever be one of my best friends.”
Whether close friends or professors, Caro left a lasting impression for those who crossed his path.
“I vividly remember his smile whenever I threw a
silly joke during lecture,” said Dr. Melissa Antonio, assistant professor of biology. “(He was) a very calm and soft spirit. My students are like my own children, so his death really hits deep into the heart.”
An obituary published by the Press-Enterprise on Jan. 1 and a post on Caro’s Facebook memorial page, reads, “He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. May we honor him by following his example and performing acts of kindness and generosity often.”
