California Baptist University’s Online and Professional Studies bachelor’s program is recognized as No. 34 in the nation for its success as a substitute to a traditional college classroom, and No. 2 best online bachelor’s program in all of California by U.S. News & World Report.

It also received a Faculty and Credential Training score of 99 out of 100.

The OPS program opened its doors to students in 2010. Since then, it has developed 25 online undergraduate programs, 14 graduate programs and a doctorate in public administration.

However, it does not stop there. The program continues to grow its course availability for online students every year.

This is not the first year it has been nationally ranked.

“We have been in the top-40 ranking from the very beginning, so we’re continuing to be nationally ranked,” said Dr. David Poole, vice president for OPS. “When you’ve got quality people and quality faculty, then it certainly makes a world of difference.”

OPS started out as a supplement to traditional student learning and has developed into a network of professors available to more than 3,600 students in 29 states and three additional countries around the world.

Poole said the program is a great opportunity to share the gospel throughout the world and reach students they otherwise would not have been able to reach through a traditional university setting.

The majority of OPS students are in an adult demographic that do not attend college through a traditional classroom method.

OPS provides a way for students with full daytime schedules to complete a four-year degree completely online.

“I can definitely see where OPS would be ideal for someone who is older with kids when they don’t have time to come to campus,” said Ciara Sitar, junior psychology
major.
