To celebrate 20 thousand followers on Instagram, Augie’s Coffee House did a giveaway where they offered a year of free coffee for a lucky winner and a friend.
This contest was won by commenting and tagging friends who also followed and liked their page on Augie’s Instagram post.
Augies said it was serious about giving all their fans an equal opportunity to win their coffee, so they used a random number generator to select a winner.
Austin Amento, owner of Augie’s, said the contest was a good opportunity to bring attention to their business.
“It was nice for our business because we saw an increase in followers and people were having a great time hoping they would get lucky,” Amento said.
Kendall Morris, senior communication studies major, and Chase Burns, senior public relations major, were the two winners of the contest.
“I love Augie’s because they serve delicious and fresh local coffee,” said Morris. “My sister worked there for a while and was the one who really introduced me to good coffee.”
Morris said he was excited to win the contest because of the quality of Augie’s coffee.
“Good coffee can be expensive so it is nice to know that we will be getting it free for an entire year. I am beyond thankful for receiving this awesome prize from Augie’s,” Morris said.
Burns also said he felt lucky to win this giveaway.
“I feel like those people who win the lottery and then everyone hits them up for money,” Burns said. “I have already had so many friends try to get in on my coffee.”
Augies customers can visit the Riverside location during 6-9 p.m. hours every day at 4205 Main St.
