The sound of children playing, the aroma of freshly prepared food and the joy of families coming together are all elements of California Baptist University’s annual Homecoming & Family Weekend.
As in the past, CBU’s Homecoming & Family Weekend is designed to commemorate the accomplishments of the campus.
This year’s homecoming takes place on the Front Lawn Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The event will feature performance artist David Garibaldi, who will paint his art live.
The Associated Students of CBU and the Collinsworth School of Music have partnered to bring a new attraction to this year’s homecoming, called Little Lancer Land. Little Lancer Land is composed of inflatable attractions, a petting zoo and games.
“This year we will have mechanical bull and the criss-cross inflatable balls that are similar to a hamster cage, but allow you to race your friends,” said Lindsay Wine, special events and volunteer coordinator.
This year’s homecoming will end with the 2013 Fortuna Bowl flag football championship followed by a fireworks show.
“I am super excited for Fortuna Bowl and the mechanical bull,” said Cecily B. Dussell, senior biochemistry major.
As the date draws closer, anticipation heightens for the 2013 Homecoming & Family Weekend.
