Thanksgiving is literally a time of giving thanks. It is a time where we get to fellowship with our families and celebrate why we are thankful. Thanksgiving is a time in which we actually get a chance to show others how much we appreciate them. Not only do you get to eat delicious food, but you can help prepare and bond over that scrumptious meal.

Have you stopped to think about what you are thankful for this year? The Banner asked California Baptist University students to finish the sentence “I am thankful for…” and email their responses. Here are some of their answers.

“I am thankful for the freedom to talk about God and sing His praises boldly without fear!”

“I am thankful for experiences and struggles that help me grow closer to Jesus Christ.”

“I am thankful for the blessing it is to be the RA for Simmons Hall. I love the girls on my hall so much and learn from them everyday.”

“I am thankful for having a wonderful start in college and for having a family & friends that are behind me 100 percent.”

“I am thankful for life’s simple joys: chocolate milk, good friends, my inner child, and the grace that comes from knowing my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
