EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FAIR
Riverside Fire Department is attempting to raise emergency awareness and create a “Ready Riverside.”
The department is hosting an Emergency Awareness fair at Riverside City Hall. The event will be held Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-2p.m. Sept. is National Preparedness Month (NPM). NPM was founded after the attacks on September 11, 2001. Participants will learn how to be prepared in the event of an emergency or disaster. The theme for the event is “A time to remember, a time to prepare.” For more information visit www.readyriverside.com.
PRAYER FOR RIVERSIDE
Compassion Ministries is hosting ‘Prayer for Riverside’ on Friday, Sept. 23 at Mount Rubidoux. Interested students should meet by the Yeager loading zone at 5 p.m. or meet at the mountain entrance trail around 6 p.m.
There will be a short worship session, followed by a Bible study addressing God’s heart for the city and prayer.
“The purpose of this event is to unite believers in worship and prayer for greater things in Riverside, beginning with those willing to go out and encounter the lost in our own city,” Danny Canales, compassion ministries intern, said.
‘Prayer for Riverside’ is part of a series of local Urban Plunges. Next month, Compassion Ministries will host a prayer walk around the city of Riverside.
