Between early classes and late study nights, it is sometimes difficult for a girl to get up early enough to look her best before class. If you want to perfect a quick and easy makeup routine that leaves you looking refreshed and ready to take on the day, follow the steps below to ensure that you always put your best face forward.
Cleanse and Moisturize
After a long night of studying, nothing is more refreshing for skin than an exfoliating face-wash. Wake up your face and senses with a quick facial scrub to cleanse your pores and bring blood flow back to the face to give skin a natural glow. Exfoliating evens out the skin’s texture, making it smoother. Once rinsed, dab your face dry with a soft towel and quickly apply moisturizer over your face and neck. 1-2 minutes
Foundation
To maintain a glowing and fresh look, moisturizer is essential. The right moisturizer will maintain skin’s elasticity and keep the skin balanced, preventing it from getting too oily or too dry. After application, allow a few seconds for the moisturizer to be absorbed before adding foundation. Evenly apply liquid or powder foundation. If using liquid foundation, a foundation brush is strongly advised. This tool will conserve your makeup while effortlessly creating an even and natural air-brushed look. Once foundation is blended evenly, set it for extra staying power for a long day of classes with a translucent setting powder. 2 minutes
Blush
To make it look like you’re getting eight hours of sleep a night, apply blush. The right blush will illuminate your face so that you not only look alive, but enthusiastic and polished. Choosing the appropriate blush color for your skin tone is crucial. Make sure you choose something that compliments the season and makes your skin look healthy.
Keep blush sheer to prevent looking like you have too much makeup on. You want to glow, not have blush be the first thing people see. If you’re unsure as to where you should apply your blush, just smile. The ball of your cheek, known as the apple is where you want to apply blush. Place the brush on the apple of the cheek and blend down and back toward the hairline. 2 minutes
Brows
To frame the eyes and face, fill in brows. This can seem scary and flashbacks of bushy or dark brows may come to mind, but filling in the brows makes a tremendous difference. Use a brow pencil or eye shadow and brush to lightly fill in and shape the brows. Be sure that you don’t use too dark a color and that they appear natural. 2 minutes
Mascara
Don’t forget your lovely lady lashes. Accentuate your eyes by applying your favorite mascara (for extra curl, use an eyelash curler before mascara application). Save even more time by using a mascara that lengthens and adds volume. This way, even in a time crunch, your lashes can reach their full potential! 2 minutes
Lipstick or Gloss
Finish off your fast and fabulous look with lip color. Apply either a gloss or a lipstick in your favorite shade. To keep your look going all day and prevent any more time being spent on makeup, look for a long-wearing formulation that will last up to eight hours. 1 minute
