California Baptist University’s The Banner ranked second in “Best in Show” for 4-year non-weekly newspapers at the Nation- al College Media Association conference Oct. 27 in New Orleans.
The Banner Online took home first for “Best in Show” for website enrollment level one, while Pursuit Magazine also was awarded first in the ‘Best in Show’ for feature magazines. 3
Schools from all across the United States and Can- ada attended this conference, the largest gathering of college media students every year.
The Banner improved its standing at the CMA conference from ninth in the nation at the 2012 CMA conference in Chicago, to second in the nation for its division. The Banner went against top journalism and news design schools such as the University of Texas at Dallas and Bard College.
Pursuit magazine improved its standing at the CMA conference from 10th in the nation at the 2012 conference to first for its division. Pursuit mag- azine competed against top journalism and design schools such as the University of Miami and Drake University’s School of Journalism.
