The Christmas season is here again. Prepare for non-stop jingles, overcrowded stores, the smell of fresh pine trees and endless festive activities.

‘Tis the season to enjoy a warm cup of rich, hot chocolate, while walking the brightly lit streets of the Mission Inn with family and friends.

The perfect winter wonderland getaway in Riverside – the historic Mission Inn Hotel and Spa will be celebrating the 21st annual Festival of Lights from Nov. 29 to Jan. 4.

Students at California Baptist University such as David Irish, junior engineering major, are excited to attend the festivities.

“I heard so many good things about the Festival of Lights,” Irish said. “I am really looking forward to going over my Christmas break for my first time.”

There is no need to travel further than up the street to experience a white Christmas.

At the Festival of Lights, individuals can enjoy an outdoor ice-skating rink on the Main Street pedestrian mall, visit friendly holiday vendors, indulge is some holiday treats and even visit Santa’s reindeer.

“I love the Festival of Lights,” said Paige Palazzolo, senior communication studies major. “I always look forward to walking main street with a cup of hot chocolate. I also always end the evening with a romantic ride on the horse carriage while enjoying a big bag of kettle corn with my boyfriend. It’s such a fun and perfect way to kick off Christmas season.”

This popular and historic event, with nearly four million enchanting holiday lights, is not one to miss and will brighten this holiday season.
