Provider, the company that feeds the students at California Baptist University, was nominated California’s No. 1 Best College Food Service in 2016 by the College Prowler located on Niche.com. As opposed to other organizations, Provider focuses on their customer appreciation and quality of service rather than low business costs and money value.
Provider is made up of a multitude of chefs with a variety of culinary backgrounds. The organization was started in 1989 and has since served hundreds of important events and people including Arnold Schwarzenegger and Diane Feinstein.
Their cuisine has fed CBU since 2000 and has consistently been voted the No. 1 Best College Food in all 87 California universities. Current students all have the opportunity to vote on the Niche website as well .
“The environment is very friendly and the managers encourage fun and playfulness alongside hard work. They always make sure we know that they’re there to help,” said Josh Mason, freshman business administration major.
Mason has worked on campus at Chick- Fil-A since the start of the school year.
Managers have expressed their appreciation for Provider as well.
“Working with the Provider company greatly increases my ability to feel connected to the school. The student employees I oversee are all a delight to work with, and I am so grateful for the overall atmosphere of the workplace,” said Jeff Willis, manager at Wanda’s Café.
Students have been able to compare CBU’s food with other schools and have found that many are in favor of the food CBU provides.
“The food here is much better than other colleges. I went to another university last week and their Chinese food was terrible, we definitely have a far greater variety of choices,” said Zac Bezansky, freshman applied theology major.
