The Habit Burger and Grill is making a new home at Brisco’s Cafe. California Baptist University’s campus is continuing to grow and Provider Food Services works hard to make sure on-campus dining options progress as well.
The Habit replace Briscos’ Wok On and Joey G’s. While both are no longer offered, the deli section of Brisco’s will still be available.
Joe Adcock, assistant dean of students, is in charge of finishing the project.
“We did a five-month project in about eight weeks,” Adcock said. “This has been a crazy transformation. If all goes well with the training and construction, it will be opened by the start of school on Tuesday, Sept 4. The planned fall hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m (with] closing at 10:30 p.m. Friday-Sunday).”
The Habit@Brisco’s will be a new addition to the popular “Late Nite” menu at Brisco’s. There will be a modified menu, but many favorites from The Habit full-service restaurants will be available, including milkshakes.
Students are already flooding into Brisco’s, excited for the new addition to campus dining.
“I am so pumped for the Habit because it will be awesome to have an additional place to eat that has good and diverse food,” said Grace Taber, sophomore communication sciences and disorders major.
However, students such as Michelle Trussell, sophomore liberal studies major, said they mourn the loss of Wok On and Joey G’s.
“I’m going to miss it,” Trussell said. “Although this is an upgrade, every once and a while some Wok On was pretty delicious.”
Since the Habit is still in transition, the administration has asked that students be patient as they complete the changes to the dining facility.
